Renner Community Hospital is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to serve as one of the first points of contact for patients arriving for registration, admission, and scheduled outpatient services.
Responsibilities
- Register patients for inpatient and outpatient services, verifying demographic and insurance information
- Collect co-payments and explain patient financial responsibility
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations as needed
- Direct patients and visitors to the appropriate department
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior customer service or healthcare registration experience preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verification a plus
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail
