Women’s Health & The Birth Place
Cedarcrest Medical Center’s Women’s Health program provides comprehensive gynecologic and obstetric care for patients throughout the Allegheny Highlands region. Our board-certified obstetricians and gynecologists, together with certified nurse midwives, offer everything from annual wellness exams to high-risk pregnancy management in partnership with regional maternal-fetal medicine specialists.
The Birth Place at Cedarcrest features private, home-like labor and delivery suites where expectant mothers can labor, deliver, and recover in a single room surrounded by family. Our neonatal nursing staff is trained in newborn resuscitation, and our nursery is equipped to care for infants born as early as 34 weeks gestation.
Services offered through Women’s Health & The Birth Place include:
- Prenatal and postpartum care
- Labor, delivery, and lactation support
- Minimally invasive gynecologic surgery
- Menopause management
- Bone density and mammography screening referrals
Expectant families are invited to our free monthly childbirth education classes and hospital tours, held on the second Tuesday of each month in the Cedarcrest Community Room. Our Baby Boutique gift shop, located near the Birth Place entrance, offers keepsakes for new parents and grandparents alike.
