Cedarcrest Health Volunteer of the Year Honored for Fifteen Years of Service

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — April 25, 2026 — Harlow Falls, PA

HARLOW FALLS, PA — Cedarcrest Health has named Eleanor Puskar of Maple Glen as its 2026 Volunteer of the Year, recognizing her fifteen years of service with the Cedarcrest Medical Center Auxiliary, where she has logged more than 4,000 volunteer hours staffing the information desk, gift shop, and patient escort program.

Puskar was selected from among more than 180 active Cedarcrest Health volunteers by a committee of hospital staff and Auxiliary leadership. She was honored at the Auxiliary’s annual volunteer recognition luncheon, held this year in the Cedarcrest Health Pavilion conference center.

“Eleanor is often the very first person a patient or family member sees when they walk through our doors, and she greets every single one of them like they’re the only person in the room,” said Bev Talcott, Director of Volunteer Services. “Volunteers like Eleanor are the heart of this hospital.”

In accepting the award, Puskar said she began volunteering shortly after her husband received care at Cedarcrest Medical Center. “This hospital took such good care of my family,” she said. “Giving my time here is the least I can do to give back.”

CEO J. Thomas Weller praised the broader volunteer program during the ceremony. “Our volunteers give this hospital a warmth that you simply cannot manufacture,” Weller said. “Eleanor and every one of our Auxiliary volunteers are an essential part of the Cedarcrest Health family.”
