Cedarcrest Medical Center Hosts Free Sports Physicals Night for Student Athletes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — June 30, 2026 — Harlow Falls, PA
HARLOW FALLS, PA — Cedarcrest Medical Center will host its annual Free Sports Physicals Night on Thursday, July 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Cedarcrest Health Pavilion, offering no-cost preparticipation physical evaluations (PPEs) to student athletes throughout the Allegheny Highlands region ahead of the 2026-2027 school year.
The event, staffed by physicians and athletic trainers from Cedarcrest Sports Medicine, is open to students in grades 7 through 12 who are registered for fall, winter, or spring athletics at area school districts, including Harlow Falls, Renner, Maple Glen, and Bramford schools. Physicals will be conducted on a walk-in basis, with families asked to bring a completed PIAA Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation form.
“Every summer we see the same thing — families scrambling to get a sports physical scheduled before two-a-days start,” said Dr. Renata Okafor, medical director of Cedarcrest Sports Medicine. “This event takes that burden off parents and makes sure no student is sidelined simply because they couldn’t get an appointment in time.”
Cedarcrest Health President and CEO J. Thomas Weller said the event reflects the health system’s broader commitment to youth wellness. “Keeping our young athletes healthy and on the field is part of our mission to this community,” Weller said. “I want to thank our sports medicine team and our volunteers for donating their evening to make this possible for so many families.”
No appointment is necessary, though families are encouraged to arrive early as physicals are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call the Cedarcrest Sports Medicine office at (814) 555-2244.
