Price Transparency & Estimates
Cedarcrest Health believes patients deserve clear information about the cost of their care before receiving services whenever possible. In accordance with federal price transparency requirements, Cedarcrest Medical Center and Renner Community Hospital each publish a comprehensive machine-readable file listing standard charges for the items and services we provide.
The machine-readable file includes gross charges, discounted cash prices, and payer-specific negotiated rates for thousands of hospital services, and is updated annually. This file is intended primarily for researchers, employers, and technical users, and is available at no cost on the Cedarcrest Health website.
We recognize that the machine-readable file can be difficult for an individual patient to interpret on its own. For that reason, we strongly encourage patients who want to understand their expected out-of-pocket cost for a specific procedure to contact our Patient Financial Services team directly for a personalized estimate.
To request a price estimate, patients will need to provide:
- The specific procedure or service being considered, including the physician’s order if available
- Current insurance information, including plan name and member ID
- Whether the service will be performed on an inpatient or outpatient basis
Estimates provided by Cedarcrest Health are good-faith approximations based on typical cases and your insurance benefits as understood at the time of the request. Actual charges may vary based on the complexity of care actually provided, unexpected complications, or changes in your insurance coverage between the time of the estimate and the date of service.
Patients who are uninsured or choosing to pay out of pocket may also request our standard self-pay pricing, which in many cases offers a discount from gross charges. To request a price estimate, please call Patient Financial Services at (814) 555-2210.
