Visiting Hours & Guidelines
Cedarcrest Health welcomes family members and loved ones as an important part of the healing process. To balance the needs of patient rest, privacy, and safety with the comfort that visitors provide, each unit at Cedarcrest Medical Center and Renner Community Hospital maintains its own visiting guidelines.
General visiting hours are as follows:
- Medical/Surgical Units: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily
- Intensive Care Unit: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., limited to two visitors at a time
- Emergency Department: One support person per patient, as space and patient condition allow
- Family Birthing Center: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with extended privileges for a designated support person
- Behavioral Health Unit: Scheduled visiting hours only; please contact the unit directly at (814) 555-2255
- Renner Community Hospital (all inpatient units): 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily
We ask that visitors check in at the applicable nursing station before entering a patient room, and that no more than two visitors be present in a room at one time unless otherwise approved by nursing staff. Children under twelve should be accompanied by an adult at all times and are asked to avoid visiting during periods of high respiratory illness activity in the community.
During periods of elevated flu or respiratory virus activity, Cedarcrest Health may temporarily modify visiting guidelines, including requesting that visitors who are ill postpone their visit or wear a mask while in patient care areas. Any such changes will be posted at hospital entrances and communicated to families upon admission.
Visitors are asked to be respectful of roommates in shared rooms, to keep noise to a minimum during evening and overnight hours, and to follow all instructions from nursing staff regarding infection control precautions, including hand hygiene upon entering and leaving a patient room.
If you have questions about visiting guidelines for a specific unit or a specific patient’s situation, please call the main hospital operator at (814) 555-2200 and ask to be connected with the appropriate nursing unit.
